Gtx 660 Drivers Windows 10
I'm at a bit of a loss at the moment. My computer's graphics card is a Geforce GTX 660. It has been a solid card until recently. Since an update to Windows 10 from.
I upgraded to windows 10 this week. Everything went smooth other than the graphics driver. Windows by default is selecting a basic driver for the system and will not allow me to switch to nVidia WHQL drivers. I've done several things to try to fix this. Run the DDU removal tool and wipe the system clean of nVidia drivers/software, then try to install the latest driver (actually, I've tried several drivers, currently at 355.98). The device manager sees that my hardware is an nVidia GTX 660, but the driver is Microsoft Basic (after reboot).
If I manually try to change that driver in the device manager, it tells me the the current (Microsoft) driver is the best driver for my hardware. This is puzzling, as the device manager shows a problem with my graphics card, in that it says, 'Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information in the registry is incomplete or damaged (code 19).' Chipset Drivers Windows 10.
I've tried this process with 3-4 different WHQL drivers on the nVidia site. Currently, I can get the generic Windows driver to accept my 1920x1080 native resolution, but my 2nd monitor isn't detected and nothing I've tried can get it to be recognized. The 2nd monitor is really what I'm caring about right now, so if the Microsoft basic driver would accomplish this, I would be fine. Thanks in advance. Lexmark X2670 Driver Windows 10 more.
